A Nepali artisan wet-felting raw wool into a slipper by hand

Our story

Nepal makes the best wool
slippers on earth.

Himalayan sheep grow a dense, springy fleece that felts into a single seamless piece — no glue, no seams underfoot, nothing to rub. It is a technique that takes years to learn and about four hours per pair to execute.

We work directly with artisan workshops in the Kathmandu Valley and pay per pair, not per hour, so careful work is not punished. The bird and wildflower motifs are needle-felted one strand at a time, which is why no two pairs are quite the same.

The rest of the range is what we reach for ourselves: a wooden file that does not shred, a 40% urea cream that actually softens a winter heel, and masks for the week before sandals.

The routine

Four steps. Two weeks. Heels that stop cracking.

  1. 01

    File

On dry feet, take down thick skin with the coarse side, then smooth with the fine side. Dry skin files more evenly than wet.

  2. 02

    Soften

40% urea nightly. Urea pulls water into hardened skin and loosens what is ready to shed.

  3. 03

    Target

The 60% stick goes straight onto cracks and hardened edges. Nothing on your hands.

  4. 04

    Maintain

Once the skin is even, drop to two or three nights a week. A mask weekly if you like.
